AVG is an antivirus brand that added a VPN to its lineup.
That difference shapes everything, from price to privacy.
Here’s how the two compare in 2026.

Что такое FastestVPN?
FastestVPN is a low-cost VPN service launched in 2016.
It encrypts your internet connection and swaps your real address for a VPN IP address.
Компания, предоставляющая VPN-сервисы, базируется на Каймановых островах.
That territory has no mandatory данные законы о сохранении прав.
It’s also outside the big surveillance alliances.
The network covers around 800 servers in 49 countries.
Despite the name, it isn’t the fastest VPN you can buy.
It wins on price and privacy instead.
The short video below walks through the apps and main settings.
FastestVPN
A budget VPN with a rare $40 lifetime option. You get an audited no logs policy and 10 connections. A solid pick for streaming on a tight budget.

💡 Price check: Some review sites quote the yearly plan at $19.95. That works out to about $1.66 a month. The $0.83/mo rate spreads that bill over the bonus free year. Confirm the total at checkout.
⚠️ Предупреждение: “Lifetime” means the company’s lifetime, not yours. If FastestVPN shuts down, your access ends with it.
Основные преимущества FastestVPN
Here’s what makes FastestVPN worth a look:
- Низкая начальная цена: The two-year deal works out to $0.83/mo. A one-time lifetime plan is also on offer, which is rare.
- Проверенная конфиденциальность: Altius IT audited the no logs policy. FastestVPN claims it keeps only your billing email.
- Built-In Protection: You get AES-256 encryption, a NAT firewall, and DNS leak protection. An ad blocker with malware protection comes included.
- Вкладка «Трансляция»: A dedicated tab points you to the right streaming servers. That takes the guesswork out of Netflix and Хулу.
- Ten Devices at Once: One account covers 10 simultaneous connections. That’s enough for most households.
- Дополнительные инструменты: Plans include the PassHulk менеджер паролей. Browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox are free too.

Что такое AVG VPN?
AVG Secure VPN is the VPN app from AVG, the antivirus brand.
It shares its core tech with Аваст, its sister company.
The app hides your online activity from hackers, ISPs, and governments.
It also guards sensitive data like banking logins on public Wi-Fi.
The main screen has one big ON button.
Beginners can connect in a few seconds.
The trade-off is that it lacks advanced features.
Here’s a short video tour of the app in action.
AVG VPN

Основные преимущества AVG VPN
Here’s what AVG VPN does well:
- One-Click Setup: Launch the app and press ON. There are no settings to learn first.
- Kill Switch On by Default: The internet kill switch is active from the first launch. Many VPN apps make you enable it yourself.
- Ten Devices: One plan covers 10 simultaneous device connections. That’s generous next to many competitors.
- Имитационный протокол: AVG built Mimic to slip past VPN blockers. It sits next to OpenVPN in the protocol menu.
- Серверы потоковой передачи: Dedicated servers handle streaming and torrenting. They reached US Netflix and BBC iPlayer in independent tests.
- Shared IPs: Many AVG users share the same IP addresses on each server. That makes traffic harder to trace to you.

Сравнение характеристик
Here’s how the two VPN services compare across ten areas. We start with a quick table, then go feature by feature.
| Особенность | FastestVPN | AVG VPN |
|---|---|---|

Budget streaming and privacy | Beginners and AVG antivirus users |
1. Сеть серверов и их расположение
FastestVPN: FastestVPN runs around 800 servers in 49 countries. NordVPN and ExpressVPN run thousands, so this is a small server network. With so few servers, peak hours can bring overcrowding and slow speeds. The company doesn’t say how many are virtual servers.
AVG VPN: AVG lists 50+ server locations and 700+ servers. Independent reviews count anywhere from 36 to 66 countries. Check the server list for your country first. Coverage leans toward Europe and North America, including Canada, France, the UK, and Австралия.
2. Speed & Protocols
FastestVPN: FastestVPN supports the WireGuard protocol, OpenVPN TCP, and IKEv2. One review hit about 730 Mbps on a nearby server using WireGuard. Reviewers testing FastestVPN saw downloads drop about 45% on average. Distant servers lost up to 55%.
Uploads slowed about 22% on one test computer. On a second machine, latency rose 33%, while the first showed no change. Our full FastestVPN review covers these speed tests in more depth.
AVG VPN: AVG Secure VPN’s default protocol is Mimic, with OpenVPN as the main alternative. Mimic is quick, but AVG shares little about how it secures traffic. One review rated its speeds acceptable, logging 31% (download) and 19% (upload) against base speed. In our own review, speeds trailed most VPN services.
⚠️ Предупреждение: No VPN makes your internet faster than your base plan. Pick a nearby server location for the best connection speed.
3. Стриминговые сервисы
FastestVPN: FastestVPN offers streaming servers and a dedicated streaming tab in its apps. It reaches Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu. US, UK, Japan, and Sweden Netflix libraries all worked in tests.
Results aren’t flawless. US Netflix loaded slowly in some tests, and the Australian library failed. On Prime Video, some pages needed a refresh before the site properly loaded. FastestVPN servers allow torrenting everywhere, but P2P speeds are reported as slow.
AVG VPN: AVG runs dedicated servers for streaming sites like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Its regular servers often get blocked, though. One ranking placed it 29th of 61 VPNs for streaming capabilities. US Netflix and BBC iPlayer both worked.
4. Encryption & Privacy
FastestVPN: FastestVPN uses AES-256 encryption and a strict no logs policy. A third-party audit by Altius IT confirmed it keeps no activity or timestamp logs. That’s a strong record for a VPN this cheap.
A built-in NAT firewall also blocks unwanted incoming traffic before it reaches your device. Overall, FastestVPN packs more security features than AVG.
AVG VPN: AVG also uses AES-256 encryption. It says it doesn’t log your originating IP, DNS queries, or browsing history. But it does record connection timestamps and data volume for capacity planning. Connection event logs stay on file for two years.
AVG is based in the Czech Republic, which follows EU data retention rules. Its transparency reports show past data sharing with authorities. No independent audit backs its privacy claims yet.
⚠️ Предупреждение: If privacy is your main reason for a VPN, AVG’s logging is the bigger risk.
5. Функция аварийного отключения и защита от утечки DNS
FastestVPN: FastestVPN includes an internet kill switch on Windows, Мак, Android, and iOS. If your VPN connection drops, it cuts internet access to stop data leaks. Some reviews вопрос how reliably it works.
DNS leak protection sends DNS requests through FastestVPN’s servers. Still, DNS leaks and IP leaks have been reported on the Windows app. After you install FastestVPN, run DNS leak tests on your Windows computer.
AVG VPN: AVG’s kill switch is on by default, a smart choice for beginners. If a connection error appears, AVG suggests checking your internet and restarting the app. Its leak protection is less documented than FastestVPN’s.
6. Split Tunneling & Smart Tunneling
FastestVPN: FastestVPN offers split tunneling on its Windows app and for Android users. Smart tunneling goes a step further. It routes chosen websites, like Netflix, through the VPN tunnel before you open the app.
AVG VPN: Split tunneling is one of the advanced features AVG lacks, based on our full review. Either all traffic goes through the VPN or none does. That’s simpler, but less flexible for banking apps or игры.
7. Devices & Simultaneous Connections
FastestVPN: FastestVPN apps cover Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux. The FastestVPN iOS app and the Mac apps share the same clean layout. A router setup covers devices like an Apple TV.
One account allows 10 simultaneous connections across phones, laptops, and tablets. FastestVPN’s apps also let you buy extra slots if your household grows.
AVG VPN: AVG apps run on Windows, macOS, and Android and iOS mobile devices, but not Linux. Our writer also ran it on an Android TV. Like FastestVPN, it covers 10 devices on one subscription.
8. Дополнительные инструменты безопасности
FastestVPN: FastestVPN’s ad blocker stops ads and malware while you browse. The PassHulk password manager comes free. Browser extensions protect browser traffic in Chrome and Firefox. A dedicated IP address, double VPN servers, and port forwarding round out the extras.
AVG VPN: AVG’s strength is its wider security suite. AVG Ultimate pairs Secure VPN with antivirus software in one plan.
The suite also includes a virus scan and cleaner for your PC. It checks files and apps for threats on a schedule you set.
AVG also sells Secure Identity for identity protection. It’s a separate product, so it isn’t part of the VPN itself.
9. Поддержка клиентов
FastestVPN: FastestVPN offers 24/7 live chat with real people, plus email support. Agents respond fast, but answers can feel generic. The knowledge base has setup guides, though its search works poorly. FastestVPN’s customer support gets mixed reviews overall, with Trustpilot reviews often praising it.
AVG VPN: AVG routes VPN help through its main support center, shared with its antivirus products. Its guides cover install steps, connection errors, and system requirements. Support here feels built for the whole AVG lineup, not the VPN alone.
10. Ценообразование и стоимость
Here’s how the plans line up side by side.
| Уровень плана | FastestVPN | AVG VPN |
|---|---|---|
| Уровень 1 | 1 Year + 1 Year Free: $0.83/mo | AVG Antivirus Free: Free (no VPN) |
| Уровень 2 | 1 Month Plan: $5/mo | AVG Internet Security: $4.99/month |
| Уровень 3 | Exclusive Lifetime Plan: $40 | AVG Ultimate: $4.99/month |
| Пробный | 0,99 доллара за 7 дней | 60 дней бесплатно |
| Окно возврата средств | 31 день | 30 дней |
FastestVPN: FastestVPN is cheaper over almost any time frame. The two-year deal and the lifetime plan both undercut AVG. Add-ons like a dedicated IP push the total up, so buy only what you need.
AVG VPN: AVG makes sense if you want antivirus too. AVG Ultimate covers both under one bill. If you only need a VPN, you’ll pay more than with FastestVPN.
Различные сценарии
| Если вам это нужно | Выбирать | Почему |
|---|---|---|
| Ограниченный бюджет | FastestVPN | $0.83/mo plus a lifetime option |
| Надежная защита конфиденциальности | FastestVPN | Audited no-logs, Cayman base |
| Many Netflix libraries | FastestVPN | Streaming tab, more regions |
| Полный новичок | AVG VPN | One-click main screen |
| Antivirus and VPN together | AVG VPN | AVG Ultimate bundle |
| Длительный бесплатный пробный период | AVG VPN | 60 days at no cost |
💰 Ваш бюджет
FastestVPN costs less on every plan length. AVG only wins on price if you’d buy its antivirus anyway.
🔌 Ваши устройства
Both cover 10 devices at once. FastestVPN adds Linux, browser add-ons, and router setup for smart TVs.
📺 Ваши привычки просмотра потокового видео
FastestVPN unlocks more Netflix regions and labels its streaming servers clearly. AVG handles US Netflix and BBC iPlayer, but little beyond that.
🎓 Ваш уровень опыта
AVG is the easier VPN app for first-timers. FastestVPN is still simple, with a few more settings to explore.
🔒 Ваши потребности в конфиденциальности
FastestVPN’s audit and offshore base give it the edge. AVG’s two-year event logs are a real drawback.
🆓 Бесплатные пробные версии и демо-версии
AVG gives you 60 days to test it free. FastestVPN charges $0.99 for a week, but every plan has a refund window.
🛟 Варианты поддержки
FastestVPN offers round-the-clock live chat. AVG leans on help articles shared with its antivirus products.
