Что такое FastestVPN?
FastestVPN is a budget VPN company launched in 2016 by Azneem Bilwani.
Fast Technologies Ltd runs it, and the company is based in the Cayman Islands.
It hides your VPN IP address and sends traffic through an encrypted VPN tunnel.
The service runs around 800 servers in 49 countries.
That is a small server network next to NordVPN or ExpressVPN, which run thousands.
Still, FastestVPN offers apps for Windows, Мак, Android, iOS, Linux, and Apple TV.
Here’s a quick video walkthrough of how the service works.
FastestVPN
A low-cost VPN with a one-time lifetime option. You get 10 device slots and audited privacy. A smart pick for streaming on a tight budget.

⚠️ Предупреждение: “Lifetime” means the life of the company, not yours. If FastestVPN shuts down, the $40 plan ends with it.

- Рекордно низкие цены: The lifetime plan costs $40 once. That’s less than many rivals charge for one year.

- База на Каймановых островах: The islands have no mandatory данные retention laws. FastestVPN also sits outside the 5/9/14 Eyes alliances.

Что такое виртуальный щит?
Virtual Shield is an online security suite, styled VirtualShield on its website.
Brian Fox started the company in 2017, and it is based in the US.
The bundle mixes a VPN, antivirus software, and identity theft protection.
Its VPN side is small, with 20 servers spread across 12 countries.
Some sources count only 11 countries, so the server list may shift.
Unlike other VPN providers, the VirtualShield VPN assigns a randomly generated connection ID each session.
This video shows the dashboard and main tools in action.

1. Server Network & Speed
FastestVPN runs around 800 servers in 49 countries. You won’t find thousands of virtual servers here. Peak hours can get crowded and cause slow speeds. Download speeds drop about 45% on average, and distant servers lose up to 55%.
Nearby servers still deliver fast speeds. One test on the WireGuard protocol hit around 730 Mbps. Upload speeds slowed about 22% on one machine, while ping rose 33% on another.
Virtual Shield has so few servers that choice is limited: just 20 across 12 countries. U.S. server speeds have dipped into the sub-50 Mbps range. Some speed tests still rate it above average for its size. OpenVPN (UDP) is the recommended protocol for speed.
⚠️ Предупреждение: FastestVPN claims high speed servers, but it isn’t the fastest VPN on the market. Your base internet speed also caps what any VPN can deliver.
2. Encryption & Protocols
FastestVPN uses AES-256 encryption on every VPN connection. It supports the WireGuard protocol, OpenVPN TCP and UDP, and IKEv2. An Auto mode picks one for you. Double VPN servers add a second hop, and a NAT firewall blocks unwanted traffic.
Virtual Shield also offers AES 256-bit encryption, plus ChaCha20 with Poly1305. OpenVPN is its primary protocol. Its servers add an extra layer by blocking harmful websites before they load.
3. Функция аварийного отключения и защита от утечки DNS
FastestVPN includes a kill switch that cuts your internet if the VPN drops. Some reviews вопрос how reliable it is, so test it yourself. Leave the VPN connected while streaming so the switch can do its job.
FastestVPN’s servers handle DNS requests directly. DNS leak protection keeps your DNS queries away from your internet provider. Still, DNS leaks and IP leaks have been reported in the Windows app. Run DNS leak tests after you install FastestVPN on a Windows computer.
Virtual Shield also has a kill switch that blocks all traffic when the connection drops. With either tool, a quick leak check after setup helps prevent data leaks.
4. Конфиденциальность и юрисдикция
FastestVPN keeps a strict no logs policy, verified by Altius IT. Its Cayman Islands base has no mandatory data retention laws. It isn’t part of any international surveillance alliance.
Virtual Shield follows a no activity logs policy. Browsing history and IP addresses aren’t saved. But it’s based in the US, a 5/9/14 Eyes member. It has also been criticized for sharing little about its ownership and бизнес адрес.
On the plus side, it helps remove your private data from data broker sites.
5. Стриминг и торрентинг
Is streaming FastestVPN’s strong point? Mostly. Its streaming servers sit in a dedicated tab. They unlock Netflix libraries in the US, UK, Япония, and Sweden. BBC iPlayer, Hotstar, Хулу, Disney+, and Prime Video work too.
The Australian Netflix library failed, though, and US Netflix loaded slowly. Torrenting is allowed on all FastestVPN servers, but P2P speeds are slow.
Virtual Shield can reach Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime among major platforms. Full access to more streaming services may need the Unrestricted Streaming add-on. It also allows torrenting with mainstream P2P clients.
6. Antivirus & Ad Blocking
FastestVPN’s ad blocker removes most ads and includes basic malware protection. That’s handy, but it’s not full antivirus software. You’d still need a separate antivirus app.
This is where Virtual Shield earns extra points. Its antivirus scans offline files and applications, not just web traffic.
Ransomware protection adds another guard for your files. It’s rare to see this bundled with a VPN.
Virtual Shield’s ad-blocking servers also stop intrusive adware and trackers before pages load.
7. Защита личных данных
FastestVPN doesn’t offer identity protection. It bundles the PassHulk менеджер паролей instead, which helps you create and store strong passwords.
Virtual Shield watches the dark web for your personal details. If your data leaks, you get real-time alerts and help resolving it.
In a crazy world of data breaches, рано alerts protect your online identity.
8. Поддержка клиентов
FastestVPN offers 24/7 live chat with real people, plus email support. Replies arrive fast, but answers can feel generic. The knowledge base has setup guides, though its search works poorly.
Virtual Shield’s support team is available 24/7 by live chat. It holds a 4.6 “Excellent” rating on Trustpilot. Reviewers name agents like Amanda, Pearl, Tom, and Olivia as super helpful. The customer experience is mixed on billing, though. Some reviewers waited a long time for staff to respond.
9. Devices & Split Tunneling
FastestVPN allows 10 simultaneous device connections per account. Its VPN apps cover Windows, Мак, Android, iOS, and Linux. The FastestVPN iOS app works on iPhone and iPad. The Mac apps share the same clean design.
Need more slots? Extra connections cost $4 each per month. A router setup protects every home device. It counts as one of your account’s simultaneous connections.
Android users and Windows users also get split tunneling. Smart tunneling goes further by sending chosen websites through the VPN automatically. Browser extensions only cover browser traffic, so use the full FastestVPN apps for everything else.
Virtual Shield’s Basic package allows only three devices, below the five many rivals offer. The family plan raises that to 15, though one listing claims unlimited devices. It lacks VPN features like split tunneling and dedicated IPs. The app is also basic on macOS.
10. Ценообразование и стоимость
Давайте сравним тарифные планы.
| Уровень плана | FastestVPN | Виртуальный щит |
|---|---|---|
| Вход | 1 Year + 1 Year Free: $0.83/mo | Basic: $9.58/mo |
| Середина | 1 Month Plan: $5/mo | Plus: $13.75/mo |
| Вершина | Exclusive Lifetime Plan: $40 | Ultimate: $20.41/mo |
| Гарантия возврата денег | 31 день | 30 дней |
FastestVPN is cheaper at every tier. The lifetime plan means no monthly maintenance of renewals or price hikes. Paying once also removes surprise auto-renewal charges.
Virtual Shield costs a lot more money. Reviewers call it overpriced for the VPN alone. You’re paying for antivirus and identity tools too. If you’d use them, the price makes more sense.
Различные сценарии
| Если вам это нужно | Выбирать | Почему |
|---|---|---|
| Ограниченный бюджет | FastestVPN | $40 lifetime vs $9.58/mo start |
| Antivirus plus VPN | Виртуальный щит | Malware and ransomware tools built in |
| Множество серверных локаций | FastestVPN | 49 countries vs 12 |
| Identity theft alerts | Виртуальный щит | Включен мониторинг даркнета. |
| Стриминг и торренты | FastestVPN | Выделенные серверы потоковой передачи |
| Подходит для начинающих | FastestVPN | Simple apps, more device slots |

Neither tool has a free plan, but both offer cheap trials and refund windows. Test either one on your own network before the guarantee runs out.
🛟 Варианты поддержки
